How to make 2013 amazing
While January is the typical month of resolutions it also gives you a reason to get your business ready for the next year. There is no reason why you can’t make 2013 the most awesome year yet of your business. It just takes some time and determination to get those goals together and plan for a successful future. Here are a few helpful tips to get you started.
1. Learn from 2012
Write down at least 3 important lessons you leaned from 2012. What would you do differently if you were given a super awesome time machine and could go back?
2. Let go of 2012
Whether it was your best or worst, it is the past and you should learn from it and let it go. Take time to reflect and then move forward. Business is an ever-evolving thing and you can’t get stuck or dwell on things too long – good or bad.
3. Embrace 2013
What do you want to accomplish this year? Create concrete goals – which I call musts because in my mind they must get done and that is that. Get specific on your goals… no vague silliness here! Do you want to make a certain amount of money? Be specific. Do you want to have your products in stores? Awesome. How many? Until you can really be specific on where you want your business to go, you can’t create a plan to get there.
4. Schedule 2013
I can’t express the importance of a schedule – this is especially true when it comes to your goals. If one of your goals is to make a certain amount of money, then figure out what your sales need to be each month to do that. Schedule time to look and see how you are doing each week. This way you can adjust things as needed and your goals become action items and not just a dusty old list on a sticky note. (Yep, speaking from past experience on that one!)
See, not too hard, right? The hardest thing when it comes to planning and goals is to take the leap and do it. If you are willing to do the work, it will pay off in spades… I promise! Now get out there and make 2013 amazing!
