How to remove background from your product pictures (without PHOTOSHOP)

Have you been told that you need to remove the background from your product pictures on your e-commerce site, but you are not sure how to do it? If so, you're in the right place.

Before we talk about how to remove the background from your product images, let's take a quick look at some images from the #1 online retailer – AMAZON.COM.

What do you notice about these images? What do they have in common?

They all have a white background!

Why do you think that the #1 online retailer does this and requires its vendors to remove the background in product images and photos?

Because photos with a completely white background look more professional, they showcase the product better, they have fewer distractions and they allow the buyer to imagine the product in their own setting!

Now, take a look at these two images:

Which one seems more appealing to you?

If you answered “the image on the right,” you, and millions of other online shoppers, are right!

In today's video, I'd love to show you a few ways that you can remove the background from your product images. But, before we do that, take a second and look through your website. Do your product images have a white background or do they have a gray/dull white background? And, if they have a gray/cream/off white/dull background, how many customers do you think you may be turning away?

    1. I’m not sure what you mean, margret! You can use images in your etsy shop the same way you would use them in any online store.

  1. I have been working to improve my original website and started the new one on Word Press. Was fairly impressed as I was using DreamWeaver (way too much work with coding). Then I also discovered Pixlr and use after taking photos in a small photo box. My site has several pages but I am attempting to do a better image to present the jewelry and other items. Still have some that probably could be redone. Would love feedback
