Magazine lead times – how to know when to pitch your products

Are you familiar with magazine lead times?

If you're an entrepreneur with a product line, you know that getting magazines (especially top magazines) to write about your products can result in more traffic to your website and sales for your products. But did you know that magazines work about 3-6 months in advance of their issue publication date?

That means that if you want to get your products featured in a magazine's December Holiday Gift Guide issue, you'll have to pitch as early as July. Keeping track of lead times can be confusing, especially when you have so many other things to do as an entrepreneur. But I found an amazing and easy to use solution to keeping track of magazine lead times.

Watch the video below for a great tool that helps you take the guesswork out of magazine lead times.

I highly recommend you get your own Pitch Wheel. You can find it at Amy Flurry's Recipe for Press website. And while you're there, make sure to get a copy of Recipe for Press as well for lots more tips and strategies for getting your products in the media.
